THE BANGLES' sunny harmonies, jangling guitars, and garage rock sensibilities have earned them hit after hit, and cemented their place in music history. Founded by Susanna Hoffs (guitar/vocals), sisters Debbi (drums/guitar/vocals) and Vicki Peterson (guitar/vocals), and bassist Annette Zilinskas, they first hit the radar in 1981 as The Bangs - with Michael Steele replacing Annette just as the band became The Bangles, and recorded their major label debut; 1984's ALL OVER THE PLACE. '86's multi-Platinum A DIFFERENT LIGHT and '88's multi-Platinum EVERYTHING followed. Hit singles Manic Monday, Walking Down Your Street, In Your Room, Hazy Shade Of Winter, and the record-setting #1's Walk Like An Egyptian and Eternal Flame shot the Bangles to worldwide status as the chart topping pop-princesses of the decade. The stress of fame resulted in a nearly 10-year hiatus, but by '98 they were back in the studio, recording Get the Girl for the AUSTIN POWERS: THE SPY WHO SHAGGED ME soundtrack. In 2000, the Bangles began touring, and in 2003 released their fifth studio album DOLL REVOLUTION, which generated a #1 German single with Something That You Said. Although Michael retired in 2005, the Bangles continued to tour and record, releasing 2011's SWEETHEART OF THE SUN, 2014's LADIES AND GENTLEMEN...THE BANGLES!, and 2007's live concert DVD, RETURN TO BANGLEONIA. 2020 finds the Bangles continuing their legacy of delighting and inspiring fans worldwide.
